Building a Foundation of Support

CHALLENGE:  Sometimes the very people with whom you are closest to are the least supportive of your weight-loss efforts. What's more, you may find that your relationship with others is built around food and drinking. When you try to change that dynamic you may find you are met with resistance.

SOLUTION:  In next week's meeting, you will learn how helpful a supportive network can be for weight loss and explore ways to build such network. You may need to manage challenging relationships by asking for help or seeking new, more supportive acquaintances. Either way, you will learn the importance of taking responsibility for expressing your needs to those around you.

An Insider's Guide to Dining Out

CHALLENGE: When preparing meals at home, most people feel in control. This is not so when dining out. Healthy menu options are often hidden; asking for special preparations may be embarrassing (like Sally from the film "When Harry met Sally"), and portions can be hard to manage.

SOLUTION: In this week's meeting, you will practice the Weight Watchers strategies for taking control when dining out in order to keep your weight loss on track.

RESTAURANT SMARTS: Whenever you are eating out, turn to the Dining Out Companion. It has been fully updated and give the best POINTS value choices at 124 chains, including ethnic and regional favorites. Only $10!
