Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

Last week we focused on our "Zones".
What low energy-dense foods are you enjoying that help you live in the Comfort Zone? What are you learning about your hunger signals? Remember to ask yourself every 2 to 4 hours the following questions:
AM I HUNGRY?
WHAT AM I HUNGRY FOR?

This week we are focusing on LOSE FOR GOOD!

Weight Watchers is proud to announce the Lose for Good initiative. For every pound of weight lost by Weight Watchers members between 9/7/08 and 10/18/08, WW will donate the equivalent of a pound of food -- up to $1 million dollars worth -- to people around the world who need it!

We will be talking about it a lot more in the meeting next week, so don't miss it!

Remember, it is FREE registration and NO MISSED meeting fees. Also, Lifetime members can come back for $10 a week!

See you at the meeting,

Have you been to a meeting lately?

Hi Everyone,

I know I have been remiss in sending out your motivational messages and I deeply apologize. Just as you probably have been, I am very busy! However, this is no excuse.

Last week we spoke of keeping MOTIVATED during our weight-loss journey. What ways are you keeping the motivation going? Sometimes it is just a tweek or a spark that makes us sit up and pay attention. Where do we get those fresh approaches? AT A MEETING! So, if you like me, you have a million excuses as to why you can't make it to a meeting...stop to think of how those excuses are going to help you lose weight. I know some things have a deadline, but we need to work out just 30 minutes into our weekly routine.

If you do nothing more this week, please do the following:

1) Attend a Weight Watchers meeting!

2) Answer the question: Why do I want to lose weight?

3) And if you are already at goal weight answer this: Why do I want to maintain this goal weight?

4) Take a photo of yourself -- If you are just starting, or you have lost 10, 30, or 90 pounds, photos are visual reminders of how far we have come.

5) Vow to measure yourself once a month. One month I lost nothing at the scale, but I lost 4 inches of total body mass!

See you at the meeting!

PS Please feel free to forward this message to others that might need additional inspiration!

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Greeting Members,

Last week we focused on Sustaining Motivation.

How are you empowering your beliefs this week? Are you starting to believe that you are capable and deserving of your weight goal?

How will strengthening you beliefs help you succeed and stay motivated?

This week's topic is Treat Yourself Well.

We will be focusing on finding healthy indulgences, both food and non-food, and why they are important in our weight-loss journey. Taking care of ourselves is extremely important and we need to continue to give ourselves "treats" throughout the summer and still remain in control.

See you at the meeting,

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Last week we used the Storyboarding Tool for Living to determine our goal for Labor Day. Remember, you need 6 successive steps to make that plan work! Do you have your plan in place? Please bring your plan to this week's meeting (it is still for your eyes only).

This week's topic is SUSTAINING MOTIVATION.

As you launch into your summer plans, you may be dreading the effect it will have on your weight loss progress. It is important that you prepare yourself with any seasonal situations that might hinder your success. The Empowering Belief Tool for Living will help you strengthen your belief to succeed.

What are the thoughts you are saying to yourself now as you approach your summer? Don't take the summer "off" with weight loss! What will that get you -- if you do? Further or closer to your weight-loss GOAL? You know the answer! Summer is going to come next year and the year after that and the year after that. You need to manage through it whether you are 100, 50, 10, or 1 pound away from your goal. Think positive! We can help you succeed!

How are you Preparing Yourself  to manage the Memorial Day weekend? What lighter food choices did you or are you making at your family gathering? Tell me what impact that has on your progress next week!

Next week's topic is Loosen Up, Lighten Up...and Lose!

We will explore ways to relax into summer without relaxing your weight loss efforts. We will clarify what you want now and how to go about getting it.

I am rolling out a new "Summer School for Success" contest this week. Don't miss it!

Remember, we are meeting on Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday of this week. MONDAY WE ARE CLOSED FOR THE HOLIDAY.

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Good Afternoon Everyone!

Last week we spoke about Actunities (opportunities to act). Did you find any new actunities? Tell me about them when you come to the meeting this week. How do you think they will help with your weight loss?

This week's topic is Families, Friends, and Holiday Eating.  In preparation for Memorial Day, we will focus on how you can manage food-related get-togethers. If you have been with Weight Watchers for three weeks or more, you will need to review and bring your Think First, Week 3 booklet.  By practicing the helpful habits in the week 3 booklet, you will enhance your likelihood of managing the social events of the summer successfully.

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Good Morning All!

I hope you all had a great week last week. I know I am very excited about spring! I will be doing my 1st dualtholan of the season tomorrow, hopefully not in the rain!

Last week, we spoke of "Shortcuts to Mealtime Success". What new time-saving tips did you try last week as a result of our meeting discussion? Consider bringing a recipe to the meeting of the favorite quick meal you prepared. If it is your own recipe, remember to get the POINTS verified through e-tools. If it is from one of our recipe books, please remember to site the book on the bottom of the recipe.

This week's topic: Is Weight Management a Bargin Bonanza?

Perhaps sometimes you feel that this healthy lifestyle you are adapting consisting of fresh produce, lean meats, Weight Watchers fees, gym fees, new sneakers, etc.,  is too big of bite out of your budget. In this meeting you will see the opposite is true -- healthy living provides both short-term and long-term success.

See you at the meeting,

WW Weekly Motivational Message

Last week we answered the age old question: Does Muscle weigh more than Fat? I think now you know the answer is NO! But we use that and other excuses to avoid exercise.

Did you recognize your exercise excuse last week and challenge it? How did you talk yourself out of the excuse and into moving more?
Next Week's Topic: Would you like Fries...I mean Fruit...with that?

We will introduce the importance of healthy foods to you and your loved ones, whether it be through overt or covert operations.

What needs to happen to make this habit?      Basketball Liam

This week's topic is "But Muscle Weighs More Than Fat!"

We will talk on the rationalization we use for not wanting to exercise. We will focus on getting rid of those excuses and discover new reasons to move more!

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message and Challenge

Good Morning Everyone,

Last time, in "Weighs of Our Lives" we talked about Eating Triggers, Part 2: Trigger Feelings.

How did you practice Reframing to Manage Your Feelings?

How did you handle your emotional eating triggers this week?

What needs to happen for you to continue to use the strategies we discussed last week?

Remember in Reframing, we need to brainstorm as many non-food alternatives as we can and then agree to try at least 4 of the those alternatives when we want to turn to food for comfort or stress relief.

This week we are going to close out the trio combo, by focusing on Eating Triggers, Part 3: Trigger Environments.

We are going to help you identify and develop tactics to Manager Your Enviroments.

Remember, I have the "Attend and Stay" for your meeting challenge this month. If you attend and STAY for all 4 meetings in April, you receive a DVD, Magazine, and something special from me! Try to make time for the meeting; it's only 30 minutes!

This week's topic is "Eatting Triggers, Part 2: Trigger Feelings." We will identify the feelings that trigger you to eat and develop ways to cope with those emotions without using food.

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Good Friday Afternoon Everyone,

Last week, we talked about To Write or Not to Write."

Are you practicing the Monitor Yourself habit? In what ways? Remember, those who monitor their hunger, have a 75% greater success with weight-loss! What is the question to ask yourself, every 2-4 hours? That's right...AM I REALLY HUNGRY? Throw out the clock! Use your stomach as your guide!

This Week's Topic is: Eating Triggers Part 1: Trigger Foods

This will be part 1 of a three-part series on the triggers that cause us to over eat. We will identify your personal "red-light foods" and discuss strategies to help you manage those triggers.

Last week, I fielded two complaints -- one from a member and the other from WW Staff. I could have been defensive about the complaints, but instead I decided this was my opportunity to learn and grow (in other words, be positive). When someone complains, it means they care. Think about that...how many times have you received lousy service or had a bad meal? Most of the time we don't complain, we just stop coming back!

So, if you could take a few minutes right now and tell me what is on your mind. What do you like about your WW location? What would you change? Do you think we are friendly and attentive or do we treat you like a drone? Be frank and let me know. Change is good and sometime the best ideas are spawned by a complaint!

Thanks for sticking with WW and with my team. I know in this tough economic time, many of you could put your money toward other things. Your willingness to improve your health speaks volumes about the ability you have to look down the road and see yourself taking less medication and/or living longer.

Have a blessed holiday and see you at the meeting!

Weight Watchers Motivational Message

Good Tuesday Afternoon Everyone,

I am so sorry for the delay of my message to you. I have been at a conference for the last 3 days and have not been able to get to a computer!

Last week, we spoke about Bumps in the Road

What detours or repairs did you make last week that helped you overcome any weight-loss obstacles? Have you tried to change food plans? Did it help? Tell those around you and the WW team what you liked about the other plan and how it helped you lose weight.

This Week's Topic is: To Write or Not to Write, that is the Question

We are going to speak about the benefits of monitoring ourselves and share strategies to practice monitoring ourselves. A study by the Center for Behavioral Medicine in Chicago shows that monitoring what you eat, at least 75% of the time, offers the best chance of weight loss success.

See you at the meeting,

Weight Watchers Weekly Motivational Message

Good Snowy Evening Everyone!

Last week we spoke about The Good Health Guidelines. Just to review:

1) 2-3 Servings of DAIRY (3 servings if you are under 20, over 50, nursing, or over 250 pounds) The DV needs to be 25% or greater to count as a serving;

2) 5-6 Servings of Fruits and/or Vegetables (a serving is 1/2 cup unless it is leafy than it is 1 cup);

3) Six 8-oz. glasses of water;

4) One multi-vitamin;

5) Protein (multiply your current weight by 45% to get the total number of grams of protein you should get per day);

6) Whole Grains (Oatmeal, Wheat Bread, Brown Rice, etc.);

7) 2 t. of Healthy Oil (Olive, Canola, Safflower, Sunflower or Flaxseed) and

8) Limit sugar, fats, and alcohol.

Which of the guidelines are you tackling this week? Tell me more at the meeting!

Next Week's Topic: Bumps in the Road

Next week we will focus on good eating tips for managing obstacles and plateaus that you will face on your road to goal. Recognizing obstacles, bumps, and detours is part of the weight-loss journey. Sometimes, these "bumps" are an opportunity for us to assess what is going on in our food program and make positive changes by shaking up our food or exercise plan.

Weekly Weight Watchers Motivational Message

Good Friday Evening Everyone!

Last week we spoke about the "10 Steps to Success -- Part 2".

How did you use MENTAL REHEARSING to prepare yourself for your challenging weight-loss situation?

How does practicing in your imagination ahead of time make a difference?

Remember, all great people rehearse before a presentation. Actors, speakers, clergy, even WW Leaders, practice and prepare! Why shouldn't you do the same? Think about that next challenging situation; going out to dinner, to a party, or Easter or Passover. Practice in advance what you want to do! Then, TAKE ACTION, and do it!

Next Week's Topic: Good Health Guidelines

We will spend time on the "what", "how" and "why" of the Good Health Guidelines. If you want to read ahead, bring your week 1 "EAT WISELY" booklet and any WW Cookbooks you own.

Last week we spoke about Fun is Contagious!

  • What are you doing to make your activities more fun?
  • How is having fun helping you move more?
This week's topic is: 10 Steps to Success, Part 1

Believe it or not, there are 10 simple steps to success. Next week we will explore the first 5 steps and how following these steps will translate into your own weight-loss success!

A recent study by Weight Watchers found a more than more than 50 percent greater weight loss and significant improvements in
Body Mass Index (BMI) for participants who both attended weekly meetings and used eTools compared to those who only attended meetings. Additionally, the study found a significant relationship between weight loss and the number of days the eTools were used.

Weekly Weight Watchers Motivational Message

Last week our topic was: My Favorite Thing to Make for Dinner...Reservations!

Please ask another person, while you are standing in line or waiting for the meeting to start the following:

1) Did you eat out last week?

2) What tips from last week's meeting helped you to eat wisely in restaurants?

3) Have you found interesting things to eat that are low in POINTS or on Core?

Please be sure to share your findings with other WW members, the staff, and myself! We are ALWAYS looking for fresh ideas!

Next Week's Topic is Fun is Contagious!

Even though Moving More is 1/4 of the overall program, many members are reluctant to do it. The key is to find something you enjoy. Think back to the kinds of activities you enjoyed as a kid and it could be a  key to what you will enjoy as an adult.

How are you coming on your walking challenge? Did you get your 20 minutes in each day? How about today? If you need to catch up on the walking challenge, make certain to see me at the meeting and I will give you the details!

A recent study by Weight Watchers found a more than more than 50 percent greater weight loss and significant improvements in Body Mass Index (BMI) for participants who both attended weekly meetings and used eTools compared to those who only attended meetings. Additionally, the study found a significant relationship between weight loss and the number of days the eTools were used.

See you at the meeting,

What parts of your previous social snacking behavior are you going to change?

How are these things going to help us toward our ultimate goal...being at XXX weight? Think FIRST and then eat, drink, and root on your favorite team!!
Next week's topic is My favorite thing to make for dinner...Reservations!

Eating out is one of the biggest challenges to weight loss, due to gigantic portions and limitless varieties of food. In this meeting you will learn about the strategies and support available from Weight Watchers to conquer this challenge.

Weight Watchers Motivational Message

Good afternoon Everyone,

Last week we talked about Birds of a Feather.

Please seek out the person you talked to last week at this week's meeting and find out how their week went. Did you want to skip last week's meeting? What about your fellow "birds" changed your mind?

Make it a point this week, and in future weeks, to talk to at least 1 new person -- either in line while you are waiting or before the meeting starts. Find out about their struggles and celebrations. I guarentee you will learn something new that will help propel your weight-loss efforts!

Next Week's Topic is What do I eat now?

Please bring your week 1 -- Eat Wisely Book and your KickStart Book to the meeting. If you have time, pull those books out and look over the recipes and try 1 or 2 before you come to the meeting this week.

Are you unsure how to plan your meals?
Do you want new ideas?
Be here next week to KickStart Your Success right away and through 2008!

See you at the meeting,
De-de
